A rich caramel cloth made up of the warp and weft being a deep orange and black with scattered cross-hatch motif in mixture of warm tones. The Ikat threads are bound in a pattern so that the threads covered by the binding 'resist' the dye, creating a design. The more binding that is done before weaving, the more complicated the pattern. Suitable for dresses, tops, shirts, and looser fitting trousers.
- 3.6oz, 125gsm.
- 44 in / 114cm wide.
- 100% cotton.
- Country of origin; India.
- Please note: Indian hand-made cloths are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the print, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
- For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running. Wash at 85-100 degrees with a gentle detergent. Do not tumble dry.
Sold by the half yard. Fabric will be ripped to ensure straight lines, but we will include a few extra inches on either side for squaring up.
