About
Material Goods celebrates handcraft, artisanship, and a life well-made.
Material Goods was founded by quilter Riane Elise in 2020 as a way to share her favorite materials and notions for modern hand quilting. Here you’ll find thoughtfully curated goods that celebrate slow stitching, maker culture, and the intersection of form and function.
About Our Goods
We strive to support small business owners who are also makers themselves, or organizations that lead with sustainability and respect for the earth and artisan. All of our goods are vetted before being shared with you, and we try to tell the stories about how they’re sourced and produced as much as possible.
We focus on natural materials like linen, and offer a wide range of OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics. We also use recycled and sustainable packaging to reduce our footprint, and offer scrap bags that keep small remnants out of land fills.

About Riane Elise
Riane Elise is a modern quilter designing minimal quilts for the modern home. She learned to quilt in 2011 from her grandmother, and once she found the right materials (linen, cotton, and wool), she fell in love and never looked back.
Riane crafts heirloom-quality quilts that are as beautiful as they are functional, and each quilt is hand quilted with large stitching for a unique and durable finish. She is the author of Quilting by Hand (Quadrille 2021), and Inheritance: Minimal Quilts for the Modern Home (Material Goods, 2018). She is a coauthor of Modern Quilts: Designs of the New Century by the Modern Quilt Guild (C&T Publishing, 2017). Her quilts have been featured in numerous magazines and quilt exhibits, and she has taught and lectured on hand quilting and modern quilt design around the country.
She lives and works in Denver, Colorado with her husband, son, and silly pup, Dallas. Connect with her on Instagram @riane.elise.
