This is a warm-toned check in charcoal grey, pale mustard and red, handwoven with Kala cotton. Kala cotton is a purely rain-fed cotton indigenous to the Kachchh region of India. It is grown in a sustainable way due to the resilient nature of the plant, and the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are not needed. It forms a strong and coarse fiber that produces a uniquely textured cloth that makes beautiful skirts, dresses, tops and shirts. It would also be suitable for lightweight curtains, quilts and other home goods.
- 3.5oz, 119gsm
- 43" / 109cm wide.
- 100% cotton.
- Wash at 80-100 degrees F with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble dry.
- This fabric is hand dyed. For the first couple of washes, use a color catcher or place the fabric in the washing machine drum on a warm cycle with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
- This fabric is handmade and sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave or print. This is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
